One I missed!

“Evaporator” - Nathan Fake

Released February 20, 2026 through InFiné.
File under: electronica

I first became acquainted with Nathan Fake through a chance random electronica playlist on Apple Music, from his 5 track album Sunder from 2018 on Ninja Tune. His music immediately struck a chord with me, the stripped back techno beats and deconstructed electronic sounds resonating with my sensibilities. So as is my will, I tracked down more of his music, and lo and behold, he released an album earlier this year, with is first relase on the InFiné album label, in the form of the 11 track, 41 minute album Evaporator.

The write-up on the InFiné website for Evaporator states Fake has been "‘moving away from the nocturnal and rave-driven atmospheres of his previous projects to offer what he describes as “daytime aerial music.”’ My description of this album is equal parts Boards of Canada, Clark, Alias and Aphex Twin, with a smattering of Max Cooper and a dash of Apparat.

It’s a great album with an infectious groove, and with a wide and varied palette of sounds. If you dig chill dance floor vibes, make sure to give this one a listen.
