“Nine Inch Noize” - Nine Inch Noize

Released April 17, 2026 through Interscope.
File under: industrial rock/EDM/electro-industrial

Having grown up in a time when industrial music was new and fresh, listening to everything from Ministry to Skinny Puppy, Nine Inch Nails (Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross) were definitely a stalwart of my early twenties. Much later on in the early 2000s, when the likes of Daft Punk and Digitalism were appearing, Boyz Noise (German Iraqui performer Alexander Ridha) became a figure on the electro-house scene. And while I enjoyed both bands in their heyday, I never imagined that they would join together with such a force.

NIN and Boys Noize have been collaborating since 2024, and have hinted at releasing an album together ever since. They then announced the project Nine Inch Noize in September 2025 when the band name appeared on the Coachella lineup without notice. Subsequently they made their live debut at Coachella on April 11 2026 as the supergroup Nine Inch Noize (Reznor and Ross, Ridha, and joined by Reznor’s wife Mariqueen Maandig on vocals).

The reception was overwhelmingly positive, and led to much anticipation of their studio album release on April 17.

And here it is! And what a gem it is.

At first playing like a live album, with snippets of the crowd from their Coachella appearance over the seemingly live album, it kicks off with the track Vessel, with the telltale NIN grunge samples interspersed with Boys Noize big-beat rhythms driving the sounds. Over the next 40+ minutes the music is unrelenting, and songs we know, with a fresh take on some of my all time favourites. The remake (not remix, this is a remake) of the NIN stalwart Closer gets a complete rebuild, and it couldn’t sound better than this.

Whether you’re a fan of Nine Inch Nails or Boys Noize, or neither, this is a worthwhile album to give a listen to, especially if you want to relive your teenage angst music, or even just something to tap your toes to.
